Nikhil Whitaker

Nikhil Whitaker, a well-known herpetologist and a crocodile researcher, is the curator of the Madras Crocodile Bank Trust as well as the Research Director of Agumbe Rainforest Research Station. He has a Diploma in Wildlife Management and a Bachelor in Environmental Science from Charles Darwin University, Australia, as well as Masters in Geoinformatics from Sikkim Manipal University, India. Currently he is also pursuing his PhD at the Annamalai University on the seasonal movements of mugger crocodiles on the Cauvery River. Nikhil Whitaker is a member of the IUCN/SSC- Crocodile Specialist group and IUCN/SSC Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Specialist Group.
